Why Divorce Rate Increasing In India

It is said that in India divorce rate, marriage is formed in heaven. it’s processed by which two people understand one another and make their relationship official and permanent until the death, Marriage though varies in age, customs and rites, the society across the cultures altogether civilized countries. In recent times divorce rate increase in India but in olden Hindu law, there was nothing like divorce except in lower castes and in exceptional cases like extramarital relationships and insanity, Divorces and separation especially divorced women were despised and treated in very inhumane ways.

But Hindu marriage act 1955 and its amendments in 1975 have brought some changes within the concept of Hindu marriage. consistent with this Act, marriage may be a socio-legal concept. And like all contracts, susceptible to be dissolved. The sacramental coloring is lost. Marriage is often dissolved under certain grounds. Recent changes in society like rapid industrialization, urbanization, migration, and mass media, have brought tremendous changes within the concept of marriage and divorce. In Indian families also no legislation of divorce rate, increased self-centeredness, blind borrowing of western-style has caused the change within the attitudes towards marriage and divorce, in India also.

Factors That Affecting Divorce Rate in India are as follows

• Domestic acts of Violence- the most reason for divorce rate is violence. the mental and physical torture by spouse which brings conflict between them. In India, year after year violence has increased. this is often the most reason for separation.
• Adultery- It means consensual intercourse between a husband and wife with another person (married or unmarried) of the other sex. The adultery concept came in Hindu Marriage Act by the wedding laws amendment act,1976.
• Dowry- this is often also a reason for legal separation, dowry is given by a girl’s father-to-boy family. but demand for dowery amount get increase after marriage and thanks to this, the girl faces many physical abusive. in such a case, the girl can file a complaint against the boy and his family. and legally can get separated.
• women becoming financially independent- nowadays women are understanding, getting higher positions. which also effecting the wedding together dominates another. India is documented as male dominant country. if women take a man’s position it’s possible to divorce rate.
• Adjustment- one of the most causes is an adjustment. Both the party refuse to regulate every other due to the other nature, a rise of alcoholism, family issues, etc.

In marriage, many conflicts produce. But divorce isn’t the sole conclusion. In India, the divorce rate is far above in other countries. Some relation takes time, divorce rate understanding and patience from the partner. And if children are involved, they suffered the foremost . Both husband and wife are responsible to form their marriage successful.
